Best monitors

Postby ujwl » Fri Aug 27, 2004 3:46 pm

Anybody have suggestions for best entry-level monitors?

I'm looking for something $500 or less, as long as I can get something good enough for mixing on. There a lot of companies that claim to have accurate near-fields in this range, but I don't want to get something that really won't do the trick.

I'm want them for producing electronica/dance tracks.

Mackie 824's are my favorite for $1300 a pair! However, the Event TR8 sound just as good......almost the same for $499 a pair!
A whole lotta boom for the bucks!

Haven't heard the events....but I was impressed by some Sampson Rubicon's recently. Very clear and transparent sound, maybe a little light on the bass, but not a problem for an average room.
When I'm not in the forum, I'm listening to Electronic music, especially techno music.

These are great for dance music and you'd be hard pushed to find a better set for this kind of money.

I have been hearing goods thing about the ADAM A7 for mixing, they may be a little above budget but it is truly worth saving and buyin good monitors the first time so youare not spending another $800.00 in a years time.

All the best.
