Would it be useful in a pro touring setting or in other industrial applications, to be able to run ASE/EBU digital audio longer than the normal/standard distance? For example a few hundred ft or much more. Any feedback would be great!
I'm interested in hearing about different set ups using AES/EBU if anyone would like to share thanks! If you're looking into running AES/EBU audio over long distances.. up to a a few miles , it can be done over fiber optics.

One good example is of a theater that is sending AES audio over Fiber directly to it's onsite recording studio. The distance is a few thousand ft. which would not be possible without Fiber. If anyone else has experience with this please let me know. thanks!
