  1. As a music school student in the electronic music program at North Texas, I dreamed of someday working with Weather Report in any capacity. That dream came true in 1979 when I was asked to become Zawinul's synthmeister – basically taking care of the synths, tuning them on the road etc.

Thanks for the video. It brings back fond memories of working in that house above the Rose Bowl and with the man himself. What great musician, composer, and human being.

    Godspeed Joe Zawinul.

  2. It has been years since I listened to anything by Joe Zawinul or Weather Report. In my early years my friends and I were huge, huge fans of him and this band. We traveled far and wide to see them play and we were never disappointed.
Mr. Zawinul's music is without a doubt the most special sound my ears know. I have never stopped thinking about it or him. Though I never knew him I wish I could have.
I was saddend to hear of his illness and his passing, but like all great men-he lives for eternity in our hearts because of his contribution to all mankind. Rest in peace Joe. I will miss you. Jeremy
