The Sound Of Pulsars – Cooler Than The Amen Break?

This video demonstrates the sound of pulsars – highly magnetized, rotating neutron stars that emit a beam of electromagnetic radiation.

The radiation can only be observed when the beam of emission is pointing towards the Earth. This is called the lighthouse effect and gives rise to the pulsed nature that gives pulsars their name.

Regardless of the science behind pulsars – they sound cool! Maybe it’s time to sample something besides the Amen Break.

  1. Well it sounds decent. Cooler than Amen break? (read: "musically useful/ubiquitous") I doubt it. To me it really sounds like a tight bass &/or analog toms sequenced in 16th notes with a lot of jet flanging. Maybe good for a segue between songs?
