Use The Bliptronic 5000 To Sequence Drums In Ableton Live

This video demonstrates how you can use the Bliptronic 5000, unmodified, to sequence drums in Ableton Live.

VJFranzK uses WidiSoft’s WIDI Audio to MIDI plugin, a realtime Audio to MIDI conversion plugin, to convert the audio output of the Bliptronic 5000 to MIDI that can be used in Ableton Live.

It’s a bit convoluted, but it doesn’t require modification of the Bliptronic 5000, and a free demo of WikiSoft is available, so you can try it out and see if latency for this is acceptable on your system.

If you give it a try, leave a comment with your thoughts on using the Bliptronic 5000 like this.

  1. simplistic + brilliant. from what little i saw connection wise (only a single 1/8 inch trs) he appears to input as i do – no usb. at least for me it reduces my input latency to about 1 millisecond. no fun is had when the input by a 'controller' is up to a second late.
