New Ableton Live Pack – Impulsive Drums

impulsive-cover-300x299Togeo Systems has introduced Impulsive, impulse racks for Ableton Live.

Description:

Impulsive drums for Ableton Live 8 is the newest addition to the Togeo Studios Drum library. It features a set of 600 Impulse device racks and 495 24-bit drum samples.

There are 150 basic Impulse kits in a variety of configurations and 450 single- and multi-layered morphing Impulse instrument racks in many style variations and combinations.

The racks include the Humanizer and Pattern Changer MIDI devices. Other built-in audio effects are the ping pong delay, phaser, chorus, reso delay and reverb. There is also a compressor and a limiter in the final stage of the racks to control the output signal.

The Impulse racks have macro controls for the sample start, kick drum tune and decay, global kit transpose and time stretch, velocity sensitivity and volume gain. The single drum kit racks have a random panning macro knob which is replaced by the kit layer morphing macro in the multi-layered kits.

This Live pack requires Ableton Live 8 (version 8.1.1 or higher).

See the Togeo site for an audio demo.

  1. Being a Suite user myself I listened to the demo they put online but I'm not convinced. It doesn't sound very full to me; a bit flat and lightly "metallic". I can't help wonder how things would have sounded if they would have used Collision instead of Impulse.

  3. I dont know. I mean sure, Collision is very cool and Operator has great drum sounds too. Not everyone has operator or the suite though, but everyone has Impulse. I like the sound and will probably get them, thats a lot of drums for the price too. I did like all of their free stuff so we will see.
