  1. I'm guessing the above commenters can't even come close to what the likes of Skream, Benga, Lusine and many others have created with Fruity Loops. As always, it's the talent behind the keyboard not the software

  2. FL Studio does well what others don’t. It’s usually those who don’t have published music that dis it, or those who once used Fruity Loops a long time ago …

  3. FL Studio is an expensive scratch pad.

All the real pros export everything out to a real DAW for vocals and final mix down. Listen to all the interviews. They all say, "fruity loops is great for getting an idea out quickly." Then they go on to say how they export everything to logic or protools.

Why buy two pieces of software when there are so many that do both. studio one, reason/record, protools, reaper, logic, digital performer, etc… why would you pay for software that does half the job. oh you can make it work for you, but you better expect a workaround and long tedious procedure.

also the source code is 32 bit and there are 0 plans to convert to 64 bit. the buying market is very picky and demanding these days with all the great choices. sorry but it might be okay right now, but it's going to be a different story in a few years.

I'm guessing these pictures will act as a historic time capsule of who used to use fruity loops.

  4. Problem with these requests is the malcontent on the other end doesn't like the music and claims it sucks, so here's a smattering. What style do you want to hear, i'll find it for you….

  5. "Why buy two pieces of software when there are so many that do both. studio one, reason/record, protools, reaper, logic, digital performer, etc…"

Large = NOOB alert! The fact you mention reaper means you must be 14.

Most studios use ProTools or Logic (less common) of software you haven't even mentioned. All they need are the track stems from your program. All programs export to 24 bit for import to another program. That is the professional standard. If your software does that you are set.

No matter what software you use you WILL at some point have to export to wav files if you are working with mastering houses or studios. It is done every day, no problem.

  6. slow down, reread…

    forgot ableton though…

why not harness the power of that 2,4,8,16 core processor, gigs of ram on a 64 bit operating system.. why bog it down with bridges, 4gb limitations and 32 bit bandwidth?

might seem okay now, and a few fanboys and stuck people who invested thousands into it may hang on. but the fact of the mater is, there are way better choices for way less money that do way more… fanboy, troll, neutral… whatever, that's the facts.

  7. don't forget garage band, acid, energyxt, cubase, sonar, neundo, etc…

most have moved to 64 bit or have plans to. if your serious about your music, why not invest in a total package to begin with. don't be suckered by life time free updates. after windows stop supporting 32 bit applications in the latest windows in about 6.3 years…

  8. The only real gain of a 64 bit DAW is access to more memory, right?

OK, well FL Studio now comes with a native bridge that enables you to run 64 bit VSTi's like Spectrasonics / Kontact etc and have them all run in their own memory space. You can access as much memory as you can fit into your machine (provided you have a 64 bit OS!)

The 32 bit argument becomes a moot point … I've run 10+ instances of Omnisphere with huge sample banks in and I'm able to access all 8 gigs of my machine RAM seemlessly. There is so much bollocks and misinformation spoken on this subject, it does my head in. People just think 64 bit is somehow 'better' without knowing why? If you can host 64 bit VSTi and access unlimited memory, what sodding difference does it make if the DAW host is 32 bit or not?

The arguments and 'hating' on this page is based on very old (mis)information and sadly FL Studio continues to struggle to shake off it's 'loops' history. Educate yourselves and realise that whilst it might not be for everyone, FL Studio can do pretty much anything you want. There is no such thing as the perfect DAW.

  9. Here's an easy way to spot someone who dosen't know what they are doing: They drone on endlessly about what software they use and why another program sucks.

  10. "The only real gain of a 64 bit DAW is access to more memory, right? "

Wrong. There are plenty of advantages. You just choose to minimize them.
You keep forgetting that you take that 4 gigs of core ram first, deduct operating system, deduct fl studio host and deduct each and every instance of bridging. This is the memory you have left to play around with in your host environment. It won't matter how much extra memory you have, seriously give this part some thought.

"The arguments and 'hating' on this page is based on very old (mis)information and sadly FL Studio continues to struggle to shake off it's 'loops' history. "

Fanboys call out trolls for hating. This is called pointing fingers.
Trolls call out fanboys for hating. This also is called pointing fingers.
So to all the rest of the buying community who may or may not have the attached stereo type of fanboy or troll… Maybe it continues to carry it's fruity loops stigma because it's the same software from 12 years ago. Just because they are now getting around to technology that exist 7+ years go, doesn't make them innovative. Just because they purchase 3rd party code for most of their vital tool set… Maybe perhaps it has the same old color, look and tedious workarounds that it's known for.

"There is no such thing as the perfect DAW."
Maybe not, but there are several companies working towards bringing that to their customers and are more then willing to respect and implement their ideas. Because remember you and Image-Line don't believe the customer is always right attitude… It's how your customers stay around and keep buying from you… But that would be hating on you if it were true.

  11. What musicians need the most is workflow.

Because you can produce ANY music in most DAWs (including FL studio).

There’s no limitation : All you need is the instruments , the effects and the composition.

Only a ignorant will pretend that music made with FL sounds worst.

It’s the bad musician who make it sound bad.

It’s the side effect of a DAW with a good workflow.

It’s easy to use and a lot of inexperienced musicians will use it.

The fact that it’s easy to use does not mean that it’s more limited.

Any song that you can make in PT , cubase , sonar , etc … can be made in FL.

What’s the difference between using 10 VSTI , 15 VST , some recordings and composing a melody with a midi sequencer in cubase and …

Using 10 VSTI , 15 VST , some recordings and composing melodies with a midi sequencer in FL ?

It’s maybe easier and faster to compose (modern) music in FL , that’s all …

But if you’re a rocker or a jazz-man , a “Recorder” , I admit that old-fashioned DAWs like PT are better for you.

That’s why old-fashioned Studios don’t like composing tools like FL.

They prefer recording or mastering tools like PT.

FL is a tool for composers , musicians , not for sound engineers.

    That’s why studios denigrate it.

  12. Hello Edward (deeperdeeper, animalsal, Large, Small, JGS, deeperdeeper). We are disappointed to see that you are still on a personal vendetta against Image-Line and blatantly lying about our products, our plans and capabilities.

Some official facts about FL Studio:

1.We have a 64 bit migration plan and FL Studio will be fully 64 bit compatible well before 32 bit programs cease to function (if they ever do).
2.As an interim step, from FL Studio 9.5 onward, we have implemented memory management and bridging features that allow FL Studio to make use of both 32 and 64 bit plugins. Further we have changed FL Studio’s memory management so that customers can utilise the full RAM in their PCs (no matter how much they have).
3.During this transition phase ALL music production platforms need to handle 32/64 bit plugins and use bridges. Bridging and memory management overheads are in reality slight, and do not make any significant difference to performance, particularly on the high-ends PC’s that are capable of running 16+ Gb of RAM.
4.We are fully committed to maintaining FL Studio’s competitive advantages into the future since many peoples livelihoods here depend on it. We are not about to leave our customers who we promised Lifetime Free Updates out in the cold.

We banned you from our forums and you have been banned from multiple KVR accounts as you have demonstrated anti-social behaviour in both places. We wish you well with whatever program you are now using and hope that you can move on.

  13. Okay Scott do we really need to start posting private customer information on nonrelated websites? I have a feeling that may be illegal actually. But I'm mature enough and don't care enough, so I'll let you go on this one. Unlike you banning people for no reason but your own.

    Posting lies? Please show me.

This is the first time anyone has ever heard of your "64 bit migration plan". So enlighten us, what motivated such actions? Tell us exactly how you are going from a 32 bit delphi coding language to 64 bit? This ought to be very interesting…

  14. "Unfortunately, the images are only 24bit and they’d have to be reshot to be displayed at 48bit……."

    I love it 🙂

Props to IL for responding here, despite the responses that were obviously going to follow..

  15. Unless you plan on refunding my $199, I will continue to give my reviews on your company and your software. Most people read all the reviews and watch all the videos before they decide on purchasing something. I want all the unaware buyers to know exactly what and who they are buying into. I believe as a customer I have this right, unless you control my reviews too?

  16. letsgetitallout –

Unfortunately, you undermine your credibility by acting like a spammer – posting anti-FL Studio rants to unrelated topics and using a bunch of different names to make it look like more people share your opinion.

For example, in the last couple weeks, you've posted comments as:

    letsgetitallout

    onlyoneladygaga
    deathof32bit
    filtered
    propagandafilter
    spreadthenews

    And then there are:

    deeperdeeper
    JGS
    Small
    Large

If you don't want your comments to be rejected as spam:

3). Work on expressing yourself articulately.

  17. Scott

Thanks for the official word on this.

If readers have additional questions about Image-Line's 64-bit plans, please add them as responses here.

  18. Listen Edward, Ex3, galaxytrip, whoever you are. Why don't you take the time to research your subjects before posting as them? Are you really that dull?

Large uses FL Studio daily and is addicted to FL Synthmaker. He makes synthesised instrument emulations better than many professional plugin creators out there and could rival Rob Papen as far as presets are concerned. Anyone with at least a half of a brain can see the difference between what Large posts and your unmitigated claptrap. Remember, Large LIKES FL Studio.

    Moron.

  19. wow…….. you don't even know what you are saying…. LMFAO

first its the your daily cubase , protools ,.live , FL Studio that will optimize and use the full of multicore CPU…. it's your OS that will take and carry those information to the CPU and the software… on in overall DAW software doesn't have anything to do and cannot even control those multicore CPU..

and second you don't really need 64bit when it comes to processing power. it is useless for god sake… the only thing that 32 vs 64 is the memory address ,,,, 64bit can take you up to 129?GB and that's it…..

there is no word called "32bit Bandwidth" even you know it from somewhere its only a market naming hype…..

  20. "Maybe not, but there are several companies working towards bringing that to their customers and are more then willing to respect and implement their ideas. "

REALLY ONLY SEVERAL… like 100 of 1 company does the thing
I mean really , I been to many company and what else I can say…. alot of company's manual says that customers are not right when it is now future proof …….
learn e-commerce bud you will open your mind how company stay strong and I can see that IL doing it good.

  21. "We banned you from our forums and you have been banned from multiple KVR accounts as you have demonstrated anti-social behaviour in both places."

Including using my username as one of those KVR accounts. YOU, Edward, are nothing more than an infantile, volatile, whiny, demented, obsessive, oversensitive, easily offended, ireful, unglued, four-flushing pompous psychotic sociopath with a bad case of claptrap. Imageline owes you NOTHING. You do NOT deserve anything. YOU are NOT the lord and master of THIS world (that is, the real world, not the deranged fantasy world(s) you've concocted in your mind). So what if you're out $199? Get a job and move out of your mother's basement. Get a life (and by life, I mean your own life, not someone else's (trust me, you probably wouldn't want mine, but at least it's mine!). 😛

  22. I am a 100% R/R user. I will never buy FL Studio. I will never buy (again) cubase. i will never buy ableton. etc Etc….

If someone has a bug issue with an app he paid for and the developers don't bother fixing it, sure i understand why they could be mad. But to be bashing a system some have NEVER used is madness.
Who cares if you can't be creative anymore and blame the tools and not your juice-less sac. nothing will fix that, not even moving to 64 bit.

Long live all the creative tools i will never use as i know someone is happy RIGHT NOW not reading that post and making beats with FL, cubase, ableton, PT… somewhere.

  23. Scott we're still waiting on that "64 bit migration plan"

we're all interested in how you plan to convert millions of lines of code and third party code that is written in 32 bit delphi programming language and convert, compile and make stable in 64 bit? delphi doesn't even support 64 bit.

and your lead developer doesn't know how to program in c++? sounds like bs scott, kind of like your tactics pal.

  24. So move on? Do you really continue to make dozens of false accounts like a freaking whack job to try to teach a multi million dollar company a lesson? Are you serious? You are a non contributing zero and if you passed away this second not one person would miss you, but happily we would all still enjoy our FL Studio and Lifetime Free Updates.

You suck, Ed, but I'm sure you've been taught this cruel and sad reality most of your life, which is why you resort to camping on the internet while trolling forums in solidarity.

Oh and FL Studio is way more than a scratch pad, but this area (like many) is one that FL EXCELS at.

  26. I love to use any software I can get my hands on. (Albiet trial versions for the likes of FL and NI.) I you love making music you’ll love it anywhere on anything.

A couple names a the top of the electronica pile currently crushing with FL:

    Hudson mohawke
    Mount Kimbie

the more learned the more benevolent
    peep game

  27. Checkout my stuff on youtube.com . Cyberhmoob I used fruity and the stuff that came with it to make those songs. Nothing expensive. In fact I used the demo version and copied the audio with a free audio grabber.

  28. I'm a pretty NUB musician and I managed to make some pretty heart touching stuff with it using 100% FL Studio stock sounds so I believe it's the PLAYER behind the DAW's that makes any DAW good. Not the other way around. My friend uses SONAR and I am better than he is.

  29. FL Studio lacks 3 things that still make it not so professional. First thing is that it's not 64 bit. This means it cannot use more than 3-4 GB if you are in 64 bit OS. Today's samples are growing larger and sound more beautiful and this limitation is a burden. Secondly it has no real genuine EXTERNAL straight to Track recording like so many DAW's has. Lastly it tends to crash often. Even SONAR and those other professional DAW's crash like crazy too so that's forgivable I guess. They all need to concentrate on Stability, Memory management, 64 bit & EASE of use. These days all the DAW's are congested with features. More likely bloated, useless features that don't help much for creativity. There I spoke out. Peace.
