M-Audio (Avid) has released a teaser for something new that they plan to introduce at the 2011 NAMM Show.

All that they are saying at this point is “On January 13, 2011, we’ll unveil a wicked new sound to the world.”

The video features Ken Jordan & Scott Kirkland from The Crystal Method offering their reactions on the new device.

Notice how much Ken Jordan has to say about it…..

What do you think M-Audio has up their sleeve?

  1. I wouldn't call that "so excited", personally. To me, it sounded like two guys getting paid and given free gear talking about a product they felt they had to endorse. There wasn't a single expression of surprise or excitement on either guy's face.

…of course, that might just be because of all the drugs.

Still, given they chose Crystal Method to pimp this, I'll assume it's DJ-ish, whatever it is, and will pass…

  7. This kind of silly stuff could be expected. I mean; now that one smaller software company managed to create a very popular (and also quite entertaining) hype this year with the launch of their products (yes, I'm talking about Reason & Record) the idea was bound to be copied.

Only problem is obvious that some companies know how to entertain whereas others… Well, lets not go there. This was a very dumb movie.

  13. Crystal Method seem to be the go-to guys now when you want sell outs who will pimp whatever gear you're debuting. Kinda gross at this point.

  19. So M-Audio came and dropped of this .. thing… it's a thing.. and.. you know… it does.. stuff… it's unique… the stuff it does.. this .. thing…

If it wasn't captured in the video I wouldn't have believed they'd even seen what it was when they shot this.

  25. Knowing and having worked with these two artists for years, I'd understand their reactions, and chosen words, to be unrehearsed and honest. Something that offers a, unique, new direction for creating, would likely take time to articulate properly, imo. The sniveling, snide remarks in this comments section are really childlike in nature and meaningless hater spiel. Is that all you got? Really?

  31. No, not a DJ piece, and their response on the video was a true reaction, i.e., semi-speechless, yet honestly described as not promotionally friendly by yourself. By chance, I checked the item out at Scott Kirklands house, straight out of the box, and it is a wicked piece of gear. The wow factor comes from 3 main areas: it's price, it's sound, and it's instinctive design layout for ease in music creation. Evolved, IMO. Using TCM to comment for this new item can be clearly understood, if you knew anything about their abilities/style. They play live sets on tours, and usually dj when off tour.
….and what's with the accusations? Knuckle dragging doesn't impress the ladies, just other chimps….I'm just saying….
