iElectribe Updated With MIDI Support

iElectribe iPad drum machine

Korg has updated iElectribe, its virtual drum machine for the iPad.

Here’s what’s new:

  • iElectribe can now be played using external USB-MIDI devices
  • An Auto Restore function has been added which enables the last edit status to be automatically restored
  • A Backup function has been added that enables you to make backups of pattern data
  • Now compatible with iOS 4.3
  • A few minor bugs have also been addressed, improving operational stability

I haven’t had a chance to check out the new version of iElectribe, so I’m not clear on how extensive it’s MIDI support is.

If you’ve had a chance to try it out, leave a comment and tell us what you know.

iElectribe is currently $9.99 in the App Store.

  1. I take back every mean thing I said about Korg.

    Wait…

They didn't update the iMS-20 for MIDI out or clock.

    BRAH!

  2. That's got to be coming – but I was disappointed to see that they updated iMS-20 and MIDI was not front and center.

  3. ielectribe now midi syncs, sadly no chaining patterns, but patterns can be changed via bank select and program change. Most parameters can be controlled via CC.
So it will be possible to sequence externally, sadly not internally.

It is also quite a nice 'live' app.

  4. MIDI In works great – can coontrol the iElectribe with an external controller – but wanted to use the midi patterns from the iElectribe in a sound module. Doesn't look like thats possible.
