Audio Damage Intros Kombinat Dva Multi-Band Distortion Effect

Audio Damage Kombinat Dva

Audio Damage has released Kombinat Dva – a multi-band distortion effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

Here’s how they describe it:

From mild tone-shaping or adding a bit of grit to full-on total waveform destruction, Kombinat Dva, the long-awaited sequel to our popular Kombinat plug-in, is a complete toolbox of sonic warfare.

With 13 different options in each of the three distortion engines (plus pass-through), Kombinat Dva is capable of sophisticated and unique sounds. Want to add a ring mod to the low end, a mild tube clip to the mids, and a bit-reduction algorithm to the high end? No problem. Want to run your signal through three sine-warps or fuzz algorithms in series? This is your box.

Kombinat Dva is available now for $49. Details below.

Features:

  • Crossover: Kombinat Dva features a DJ-style three-band isolator EQ for band-killing effects and extreme tone-carving on the front end. This leads to the three distortion engines, which can be run in crossover (multi) mode, or in series.
  • Multiple Distortion Types: Kombinat Dva adds six new algorithms to the seven in the original Kombinat, for a total of 13 paths to destruction. From subtle tube-style clipping to the bizarre distorto-delay of the Nerd Rage algorithm, Kombinat Dva can cover all the bases without unnecessary complexity.
  • Feedback: If the algorithms weren’t enough, Kombinat Dva has an internal feedback control, tied to an envelope follower. Results may vary, but are always hairy.
  • Filter: Kombinat Dva has a resonant low-pass filter on the output that self-oscillates at high Q like the original Kombinat, but also adds a second low-pass type, and a bypass.
  • One-Kontrol Kompressor: A favorite feature of the original Kombinat, the one-knob compressor, tuned for collapsing distorted signals to roadkill, remains in Kombinat Dva. Except it’s a slider now, and “one slider compressor” doesn’t sound as cool.
  • Presets: Kombinat Dva includes the 40 presets from the original, plus 40 all-new presets that take advantage of the new engines and feedback, for a total of 80 presets.
  • MIDI Learn: MIDI Learn on every control (VST only) allows you full hardware control over Kombinat Dva.

  1. Not worth it at all at 49 $ I own the first version of Kombinat and recently i acquired Rob Papen:s RP-Distort (free if you already own another RP plugin) which sounds way better and is much more powerfulll. Also Audio Damage’s Chris Randall aka “the angry developer” does not care about support and does not respond to clients’s requests if he does not feel like it.

I kind of respect that if it’s true haha

  3. well…although i like some audio damage products, i’m getting a little tired of Chris Randalls rants regarding Apple and audiounits. Other manufacturers get it right without the complaints. Randall and audiodamage sell products to consumers (a large part of which are apple / logic users) and yet don’t offer products with full functionality to audiounit customers yet charge the same price. I’m tired of his complaints when he’s taken my money, and then doesn’t bother to acknowledge or answer my question.

I like some of their products, but if Randall and audiodamage don’t fix the problem of limited midi learn and other missing capabilities offered in the vst version – i won’t be buying audiodamage much longer. Randall – I paid up so stop your whining!

  4. I respect Chris Randall because, you know… Sister Machine Gun. Plus, I bought that weird fm/neural-network drum machine, axon, and it kicks ass.

  5. Hey “jilky jones”… perfect comment, i could not agree more with you. After a while, i just could not take Randall’s attitude anymore. I like some of Audio Damage’s plugins, but i can’t get any kind of normal
Support from them (i’m on Mac) . Randall is always angry about something and really does not care about clients once they have sent the payment. Randall: stop your ranting, moaning and whining…
and start showing some respect for your customers, who btw bought your plugins without trying a demo first because of your obsession with pirating and licenses.
