Behringer Intros iPad Mixer Line, The Xenyx iX Series

Behringer Xenyx iX2442 USB iPad Mixer

At the 2012 NAMM Show, Behringer has introduced three small format mixers that feature built-in iPad interfaces.

The new XENYX iX Series, which include the XENYX iX3242USB, iX2442USB and iX1642USB, feature a built-in iPad docking station designed to send signal to and from the iPad with a wide range of routing options.

The new XENYX iX Series USB mixers make it possible to record and mix using its built-in stereo USB audio interface. You can connect these mixers directly to a PC or Mac computer via a single USB cable to record any signal source connected to the mixer.

All iX mixers include a dual-engine KLARK-TEKNIK FX processor with 32 editable presets such as reverb, chorus, flange, delay, pitch shifter and multi-effects. The iX mixers use the iPad to control the new KLARK-TEKNIK FX Processor App, giving users easier control of EQ’s, compressors and reverbs and a full spectrum analyzer.

The iX series mixers also feature XENYX mic pre amps, which Behringer says offer 130 dB of dynamic range, with a bandwidth that extends from below 10 Hz to 200 kHz.

Other features include ‘British’ style 3-band channel EQ and ‘one-knob’ compression on each channel.

Pricing and availability are to be announced.

  1. I was waiting for a “docking station” better than Alesis IOdock,
but this is more than i was dreaming of !!!!
If the price is right, i’m buying it immediately.
Wish it would had MIDI in/out, too, but … 🙁

  2. Hmmm… looking pretty slick! But I have to admit this might be blowing the size to memory ratio. For instance, if you run all 12 or whatever tracks simultaneously, how long until you fill up that iPad internal 16/32/64 memory? It reminds me of my first digital system (Pro Tools 3) where you would spend 4 hours recording, and then another 2 or three backing up the data and defragmenting the drive so you could use it for another session. It wouldn’t be that time consuming now with this rig, but could still be the same workflow issues. Record a full band for a couple hours, pull out the iPad, sync to a computer, put the iPad back in, record again, etc. Then sync a project back to the iPad to mix it later. Lots and lots of shuffling if you actually use all those faders!

I would love to see a smaller one, like around 4 tracks. That would be portable yet enough tracks to record jam sessions, get live recordings, do mobile podcasts, pro level recording on a weekend trip, etc. This size is more of a permanent installation and feels like too much.

  3. There are numerous sites that host clicks with the members and
you’re simply free to earn about 15-85% from this. Now you have plenty of
profitable ideas you can use to start making money as
a photographer. You need to be prepared to put in a lot of hard work in order to make money
    online fast.
