The Korg Mini Kaoss Pad 2 + Kaossilator 2 Compared

At the 2012 NAMM Show, Korg introduced the Mini Koass Pad 2 and the Kaossilator 2.

The Mini KP-2 offers performance effects and on-board MP3 playback, while the Kaossilator 2 offers 150 built-in sounds and Dual Loop Recording.

In this official video, Korg USA’s James Sajeva takes a look at both the Mini Kaoss Pad 2 and the Kaossilator 2 and compares their features.

  1. Cool! They should add 20 fx to ios version. I love that these gizmos are so small, and v2 has mp3 playback? Great

  2. Love or hate em’ I’m looking forward to making some fruity beats in my lunch breaks to elevate the boredom that is my corporate workplace! ..oh an being able to save em’….. lunch-break-beats anyone 🙂

    1. Lunch break beats, riding on the light rail beats, waiting in line at the bank beats…I’m definitely into that. I use Nanostudio on my phone, it rocks! My battery suffers though. I always try to keep a charger handy.

  3. I always feel so sorry for James Sajeva in these Korg videos.

But seriously, why the hatred for these fun Korg gadgets?

My main complaint is that the mini touchpads are harder to play.

  4. Be warned! The Korg Mini-KP had the bad flaw of drastically lowering your output volume. If Korg (who ignored complaints) hasn’t fixed this issue for the Mini-KP 2, there is NO REASON to buy it.

  5. Indeed, the kp2mini has a fault that reduces the output volume, im still waiting for a firmware fix for this, but im not holding my breath.

  6. Ok guys if youre getting the dreaded low output volume problem, before you complain to korg i highly recommend you try this first. Hold down MP3 whilst its pushed down press VOL UP & DOWN to set the volume of the internal MP3 player
