DrumJam Updated With AudioBus

drumjamDrumJam – a virtual drummer for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch – has been updated with AudioBus support.

Here’s what’s new in DrumJam 1.1:

  • Audiobus support: Now you can stream live audio from DrumJam directly to other Audiobus-compatible apps.
  • Optimized for iPhone 5 and new iPod touch
  • Korg WIST (wireless sync-start) support
  • Fixed MIDI sync drift issues

About DrumJam

DrumJam offers dozens of different instruments to choose from, each with up to 20 different patterns. You can change the levels, alter the pan, mute, solo, and tweak a low-pass filter to customize each individual part. DrumJam can also automatically randomise periodically for hands-free unpredictability. A time stretch system and multiple-tempo loop recordings mean that you can get] natural sounding audio across a wide tempo range. In addition to the looped patterns, you can play a variety of virtual percussion instruments, including Kanjira, Ghatam, Djembe, Bongos, Dube and Cajon, and more.

DrumJam lets you record loops or a whole performance to later import into your DAW or other audio app as 44.1kHz 16-bit WAV files. DrumJam supports export via iTunes file sharing, open directly in another app, email, AudioCopy, and export to SoundCloud. There is support for background audio, Audiobus support, and a comprehensive MIDI implementation that supports clock sync in and out to lock in with whatever you have via CoreMidi to/from hardware devices, network MIDI, or other apps using virtual MIDI ports. You can also play the solo kits externally triggered via MIDI input, or output your live pad performance via MIDI output.

DrumJam is available for US $7.99 in the App Store.

  1. Has anyone had a chance of actually testing it? did anyone actually get it to work?
I’ve tried last night and App (drumjam) loads just fine (into the audiobus input port, but no sign of audiobus toolbar within DrumJam (1.1 on Ipad 2):

    1. I’m not able to get it to stick to Audiobus like it just keeps loading into the input slot, but never finishes. I’ve every combo except deleting and reinstalling.

      1. Close all apps (background apps included).

        Open Drumjam
        Open Audiobus
        Select Drumjam as input

        That should work.

The app still needs some debugging to work with Audiobus but this seems to work for now.

        Devs, please fix this issue!
