Free App, Yellofier, Lets You ‘Yello-Fi Your Life’

Boris Blank has released Yellofier – an iPhone/iPad app that ‘makes anything into music’.

Yellofier lets you record your voice, a musical instrument or everyday noises and then create music with your samples.

Here’s what they have to say about Yellofier:

Create unique music with your own sounds and with the sounds of Yello’s musical maestro Boris Blank. The Yellofier also includes sounds and songs by some of the greatest musicians within electronic music. Anything can be yellofied!

Yellofier is a free download from the App Store.

  1. Oh this looks fantastic, especially for free. Reminds me of Samplr (which I love), but a little easier. I can’t wait to get started. (And hopefully AudioCopy/Paste or Audiobus are in its future, though the email mechanism isn’t a terrible substitute, I’m sure.)

  2. Within 5 minutes of having it I was creating some great patterns and really enjoying it!
It does have similarities with Samplr and I can see this app evolving as time goes by.
    Love it-and its free!

  3. Finally a patternmaker app done right!

And that voice could persuade me to… well, download *anything* this musical for free!

  4. OMG!!!! This App is fantastic….creating ‘usable’ patterns within 20 minutes….Love this!! Hats off to the Developer!! Being a Kraftwerk fan, I can see usng this in a bunch of my mixes!!

    Thank You!!!

  5. well done!
wishlist: – record from an audio input other than mic (audiobus?) – midi clock sync / transport

  6. This is what the iOS pro music app world needs – pure magnificence. A sleek interface beckons us in to enjoy the wonders of what this baby can do, and it becomes endless. Instant creative jump off points abound. I cannot believe this is free, I would happily part with a large sum for this. I hope later versions give a little more control over editing 4 bars at a time say, multiple recordings being sliced on different tracks and more in depth and customisable FX; but for now, this is almost sexual. Kudos to the devs, you’ve left a real mark here, I’m hooked.
