Free Drum Machine For Windows – HG Fortune DrumBurst

hg-fortune-drumburst

H.G. Fortune has introduced a free drum machine for Windows, DrumBurst:

DrumBurst is an 8 parts drum machine with 64 waves at each slot making 512 waves in total: not too much for a quick selection but a good variety to work with. The inbuilt sequencer features 24 Main Pattern each based on the combination of a dedicated wave, Mute status and 1 out of 6 Step Pattern variations per part. This provides a lot of variation and less of programming effort as pattern can be re-used with a different instrument.

It’s a free download (.zip). If you give DrumBurst a try, let us know what you think of it!

  1. Can’t wait to try it. I’ve been using Bidule for an idm project and I’ve been looking a good one. Hope this is the one!

  2. I tried to use it, but after downloading and unzipping with 7-Zip, there is no exe file to install the program. I got the manual in Adobe, a dll, and 2 fxb files, 4 total. Am I missing something please? I’m running Windows 8 Pro 64x. Thank you.

  3. This is a VST Plug In – Not a Stand alone program, you should be able to just copy the files into your VST Plug In folder and open it through your DAW; However it would not work in Ableton Live Nine 32-bit on Windows. I got two messages saying that Can’t Load (Synth Edit) SE Plug In: (Converters.SEM & Patch Memory.SEM ARE BOTH MISSING)!!! In Fact I had to use Task Manager to KILL Ableton because the error was stuck in an infinite loop. So not recommended for Ableton at the moment; maybe if you have other Synth Edit Plug Ins you will be OK???

  4. I like the sounds and the plug :-). However when triggering the sounds directly from the daw (Reaper) the notes are triggered by every note on AND by every note off. Can this be changed?

  5. I had the same problem as Diderique, sounds triggering on note off. Just click on the mute (M) buttons for all 8 parts in the lower right and it’s fixed!
    Great plugin, very flexible.
