Akai iMPC Update Adds Inter-App Audio & More

akai-impc

Akai Professional has updated iMPC, its music production app for iOS, adding AudioCopy 2.0 support, Inter-App Audio and more.

Here’s what’s new in iMPC version 1.1:

  • iOS 7 compatibility
  • Inter-App Audio compatibility. Inter-app audio allows you to route audio and control data between apps on your device. You can use iMPC’s sampler and inter-app audio to record new sounds from compatible apps for use in your Programs.
  • AudioCopy 2.0. AudioCopy makes it easy to paste sound from compatible apps. The new AudioCopy ensures compatibility with iOS 7, and includes updated UI and other improvements (more info at retronyms.com/audiocopy/).

iMPC is available in the App Store.

If you’ve used iMPC, leave a comment and share your thoughts on it!

    1. Yeah, BM2 is way superior to iMPC. I made some beats on iMPC and then realized how limited it is, so I’m definitely done using it. You can’t really edit your sequences or mute pads or anything. Even iMaschine is better.

  1. That is relatively old news, iMPC IAA update was released more than 4 weeks ago – 1st of October.
Btw; Why would anyone need AudioBus when IAA is integrated..? It is SO much better…

    1. Yeah, it’s an old news… but Akai lobbyists need to have something in the news everytime sites start talking about NI Maschine.

NI announced Maschine Studio, the next day Akai just released the version 1.5…
NI released Maschine 2.0, the next day Akai just announced iMPC…

They probably have hard time to realize they lost their domination when technologies shifted. It took them forever to come with the MPC Ren while NI Maschine was doing fine. And it take them forever either to come with an iPad app when BM was doing just fine also. They’re still doing good product, but they’re definitely behind the curve now.

  2. Anyone else having trouble with IAA on an IPAD 2? A lot of bad latency and glitchiness for me. I still use audio bus, which is actually now a little slower in IOS7. Garageband in IOS7 is extremely slow for me too. I wish I hadn’t updated.

    1. That’s a total bummer about your iPad 2 running GB slow.

I read a few posts on another website that said if you do a clean restore of iOS 7 to your iPad 2, the performance may return to normal. Might be worth the hassle to give it a shot.

    1. oops, i’m on an iPad running version 1.3 so it may not be applicable. but, either way, if you have the same problem, you could let me know or better yet let the people from Akai know about it

  3. Yall MFkrs are retards if u cant bang out a nasty track w the impc. I barely touch my 2000XL. I even track my beats out, but yall too dependent on electronics for gods sake its an app wtf more do u want? oh yeah for it to make ur sorry ass beats too….gtfoh,
