The Lunchbeat 1-Bit Groovebox

Developer Jan Cumpelik is running an IndieGoGo campaign to put the Lunchbeat 1-bit groovebox into production.

The Lunchbeat is an AVR-based groovemachine with 4 real-time generated and tweakable 1-bit sounds and an 8 step programmable sequencer. The sequencer can send or receive trig pulse signal.

The project is open-source and licensed with CC BY-SA 3.0 license. It is available assembled or as a DIY kit. See the project site for details.

    1. No, Noah and I we don’t know each other. Name: I know what you mean, yet name of the machine is “Lunchbeat”. “1-bit groovebox” is describing what that machine actually does – it is category of instrument 🙂

  1. I think Noah Vawter might have something to say about that name. Perhaps he is affiliated somehow with this? I have his original 1-bit groovebox on my desk, it’s pretty cool. Regardless, this thing looks pretty sweet. I enjoy gritty, harsh 1-bit sound, from the Atari 2600 to the zx spectrum, as well as experimenting with CMOS lunetta synths, a lot of people doing interesting music with the most primitive of sources.
