ADDAC System has introduced the ADDAC210 Open Heart Surgery – a new Eurorack and Arduino development board that lets you breadboard synth DIY projects right on your modular.

Features:

  • On/Off Power switch
  • Current consumption 3 led display with short circuit protection shutdown via electro-mechanical relays triggered when above 700mA:
  • 150mA, 400mA, 700mA/OFF
  • Arduino shield headers in the back, usb cable comes out from the side, all arduino pins in the front panel!
  • 1x breadboard
  • 2x 10K Pots
  • 1x 50k Pot
  • 2x 100k Pots
  • 1x 1M Pot
  • 4x Leds
  • 1x Photocell
  • 2x SPST (normally open) push switches
  • 1x DPDT (on/on) toggle switch
  • 1x SPDT (on/on) toggle switch
  • 2x SPDT (on/off/on) toggle switches

The ‘early bird’ price on the Open Heart Surgery module is 250 Euro. See the ADDAC Facebook page for more info.

  1. I guess you can take whatever synth projects you might make on your arduino and interface them into your Eurorack. Pretty clever.

  2. it seems like the ergonomics of this are ridiculously bad. just getting at it with wires covering it, jumpers that can get knocked out, accidentally shorting stuff with patch cords.

ime if you already know how to use an arduino it’s nothing to integrate it into your euro.

now if this came with a breakout cable to get the breadboard away from the module, into a robust enclosure or allowed for some/any CV control of the breadboard…

    1. As far as I know, an Arduino allows up to six analog inputs, so I’d guess they could be patched to the 6 mini jacks or one to the 1/4″ jack.
I assume the knobs can be used in the same fashion.
These patching grids can accept pre-cut wires that sit very low and don’t come out easily IF they’re not going over other wires or to some external location.
In that case, yeah.. they’d come out easily on the road.
But it’s for prototyping a Eurorack module and I can see how it could help speed up development time.

  3. I really hope that (a) they tested the hell out of the short circtui protection and (b) that the breadboard is easily replaceable for when the contacts start to wear out.

  4. Hello just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you
know a few of the images aren’t loading correctly. I’m not
sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different
browsers and both show the same outcome.
