DiGiGrid IOS Now Available For Mac, Windows DAWs

DiGiGrid-IOS

Waves Audio and DiGiCo have introduced DiGiGrid IOS – a high-end network audio interface that offers built-in plugin processing.

While the name ‘DiGiGrid IOS’ may make some readers think of ‘iOS’, the new device puts 8 mic/line I/Os on a Ethernet network interface for use with Mac & WIndows DAWS.

It features eight mic/line inputs with broadcast/studio-quality preamps, eight line outputs, two headphone outputs, and MIDI, S/PDIF and AES ins and outs.

Here’s the official video intro:

DiGiGrid IOS is an all-in-one solution for native DAW users (Logic, Cubase, Nuendo, Ableton, Pro Tools Native, etc.). Used in combination with included software, DiGiGrid IOS lets users mix and monitor in real time, using hundreds of SoundGrid-compatible Waves and third-party plugins, with latency of only 0.8 milliseconds.

Features:

  • 8 mic/line inputs, 8 line outputs, 2 headphone outputs
  • Built-in SoundGrid DSP server
  • ASIO/Core Audio-compliant audio interface
  • Software-controlled award-winning preamps
  • MIDI, S/PDIF, and AES/EBU inputs and outputs
  • Connects via a single Ethernet cable (Cat 5e/Cat 6)
  • Quick-view front panel metering and status indicators
  • High-definition ADC/DAC conversion

DiGiGrid IOS is now available for US $3,760. See the DiGiGrid site for details.

      1. No, it’s just an obvious thing to wonder about.
Do you work for the Labor Department tabulating people’s occupations? Not sure why you’d be asking me that, otherwise.

        1. Just confused as why people want to speculate about stuff they don’t know anything about, instead of discussing stuff that they DO know.

ust because ‘Moog’ is trademarked for synths, for example, doesn’t mean that there isn’t a music retailer with the same name in Canada, or a huge industrial parts company with the same name in the US.

          1. Sounds like a recipe for closed mindedness- only wonder about the things you already know about.
Yet you were speculating about my profession- do I sense the tiny seeds of curiosity beginning to germinate in your mind?

  1. Stupidly named product. They have to know that naming it IOS is going to confuse a number of people at the very least and even serious pros are probably going to wonder why they named it that every time they look at it. Everyone knows what iOS is.

  2. I have a saffire pro 40, mac mini. all i want is an app that will run my ipad a a screen over bluetooth or even hardwired between the two and then i can do this and save ~$2000 and do the very same thing! Is that too much to ask for?

  3. sounds like an alternative to UA for waves users, but with the option to use other plugins. good luck to them but i can’t afford that.

  4. I think the most important part of this whole product is the Ethernet connectivity. That means it can easily cross platform on PC and MAC. Currently there is a divide occurring in the interface market that I really don’t like and that is thunderbolt vs. USB and the death of firewire. The UAD platform is going mostly thunderbolt as well as all the major audio interface companies. That I believe leaves the PC market lacking in low latency, high performance interfaces as firewire is being phased out. Ethernet on the other hand is a widely adopted format that is cross platform and provide the streaming data bandwidth that high track count audio requires. Ethernet should be the future of audio connections and congrats to Waves taking a better path – even if their marketing department needs a kick in the…
