Roland AIRA System 1M Eurorack Modular Synthesizer First Look

Musikmesse 2015: This video, via sonicstate, is a quick look at Roland’s new Eurorack modules.

The Roland System-1m is a Euro format rack module that they describe as ‘modular for the masses’. The new synth combines Roland’s Plug-Out technology with CV/GATE and Eurorack compatibility.

The Roland System-500 is an all-new, fully analog modular synthesizer, based on two of the most revered electronic instruments of all time—the SYSTEM-700 and SYSTEM-100m.

The new Euro systems are expected to be released in Q3 2015.

  1. To be fair, my lens would be dirtier than that in the presence of this kit :o)

Time to save. How convenient that my new (first ever) modular case has an 84 hp shelf left for “future expansion”!

  2. Again, as a doubter at first, with the plug out stuff, I used it and was sold. Roland does have their stuff together. Forward thinking, this is great. Best of both worlds, in a good way.

  3. It’s a shame that the system 1 m has so few control voltage ins and outs, regardless if they are configurable in software it’s . I guess the price seems right though and it would go up a bit for each ad/da converter added.. Connecting an ipad or whatever to reprogram the ins and outs is ok, let’s hope that it;s also possible to switch between multiple defined routings from the front panel as well.

  4. The scatter and delay modules look super cool – and would be rad to patch into that weird eurorack stompbox thing posted the other day.

  5. These releases from Roland are great and I want to encourage them by purchasing one of everything… alas my bank balance says otherwise.
