  1. Just got it…sounds great, easy to navigate, easy to assign external controllers. Very happy to have it in my softsynth arsenal!

  2. hey cakewalk, how about you fix the regular rapture VST for OSX before you put a new product on the market? do you really think I am going to buy this just to load my old patches?!

    1. I bought Rapture Pro and i am having significant issues with the program….it is basically unreliable….it crashes and produces an audio drop out error requiring me to reboot the Sonar Pro software to reset it….i also get random noise errors with many of the voice selections….this is rev 3 update of the SW….this program is crap….not for serious studios…

  3. first cool thing: one can load which soundsets they are interested…for instance, I have chosen not to install the piano, clavinet, and other stuff like that…just the synth stuff for me amd orchestral for variety. that’s cool, I don’t have to use precious HD space on things I don’t need.
I think the filters sound pretty good as do the effects.
on the subject of effects though: I can’t help but think time and time again that the effects settings are really fidgety…it’s like at one setting a particular parameter isn’t affecting the sound then I change the repsective parameter and I changes abruptly…not a smooth transition/sweep from point A to point B on a given parameter…and like I have said, it seems to only be a quirkiness when dealing with the effects section.

ok, there are some glitches I have come across thus far:
within Mainstage I will initiate an instance of Rapture Pro and it’ll immediately freeze with the output levels maxed out…not sustained hell, just frozen output level meters & no sound output…nothing will rectify it other than just taking Rapture Pro out of the plug-in slot…I would say this happens 50% of the time.
also, i can’t tell if it’s the programming of particular sounds or a glitch but some sound will sustain indefinitely upon first note-on…off hand, I can’t recall if it is only happening with my Digital Sound Factory Emu Proteus 2000 Collection or if it also is evident on the Rapture and Dimension sound sets

    1. I noticed that the Piano and other sounds that get installed are not at all “traditional” sounding. In fact there are no standard piano sounds in the Rapture Pro sound set, they are all heavily effected and/or synthetic sounding.

I was wondering how to get my old expansion sets into the new software. Haven’t figured that one out yet (if it’s possible).

  4. A general note to all that are thinking about Rapture Pro. There are definitely some quality control issues going on. Missing multisample files, patches that won’t produce sound etc. There are differences in the legacy content, so that patches in Rapture don’t sound the same in Rapture Pro. I think (now that I’ve upgraded) that it would be wise to wait for the next update to resolve these issues. Otherwise, it sounds great…it’s just not at 100% yet.

    1. Thanks for the note on the piano sounds Graham. Maybe I will load them up. Good to advise people to wait for a revision on this thing if they are new to it too…although I hope that the bugs fixed will not take an insanely long time…the Zeta 2 product registration fiasco is still fresh in my head.
