Evaton Technologies Announces RF Nomad: Atomic Shadow Edition 5U Synth Module

rf-nomad-atomic-shado-editionEvaton Technologies announced via their Facebook page a new large-format module, the RF Nomad: Atomic Shadow Edition.

The module grew out of a one-off custom module created for ‘mid-century electronica’ artist Atomic Shadow (Rod Mitchell).

The module is a 5U version of Evaton’s RF Nomad voltage-controlled shortwave radio receiver Eurorack module.

Due to interest, a limited run of the Atomic Shadow Edition of the RF Nomad will be made in 5U (dot com) format.

The RF Nomad: Atomic Shadow Edition is expected to be available this winter. Pricing is TBD, but is expected to be around $250-275, depending on final costs.

In addition to the module, a length of antenna coax cable will be included, and a small, but high quality receiving antenna. The antenna connection will be made via a standard SO-239 socket on the front of the module, which means that the RFN:ASE will be compatible with commercially-available shortwave / ham radio receiving antennas and accessories.

If you are interested in the module, Evaton has a sign up form on their site to gauge interest.

  1. I wish I had money to burn on a modular system (sniff sniff).

Where did I go wrong in life? Oh yeah, when I decided to be a keyboard player instead of some other band member.
