ContinuuCon ’16, The First Continuum Fingerboard Conference, Scheduled For June 9-11

Organizer Sally Sparks let us know about ContinuuCon ’16, the first Continuum Fingerboard conference, scheduled For June 9-11, 2016 in Asheville, NC.

The event, to be held at the Altamont Theater, will feature lectures, workshops, collaborations and a concert featuring the Continuum.

Designed by Dr. Lippold Haken and manufactured by Haken Audio, the Continuum Fingerboard is an electronic musical instrument that allows unprecedented realtime performance control. The Continuum offers realtime continuous control, in three dimensions, for every finger that is placed on the playing surface.

It features an internal synthesizer, specifically programmed to take advantage of the expressive musical capabilities of the Continuum.

Planned participants for ContinuuCon ’16 include Continuum creator Lippold Haken; composer Ed Eagan; author and musician Geary Yelton; Experimental Synth’s Chris Stack; synthesist Greg Waltzer; and Sparks.
