Moog 960 Sequencer Meets Simmons SDS200 Drum Synthesizer

This short video, via zack dagoba, captures a quick demo of using a Moog Modular 960 Sequential Controller to control a Simmons SDS200 drum synthesizer. 

“This is what a Moog 960 sequencer sounds like triggering a Simmons SDS200,” he notes. “The Moog is also sending voltages to control what would normally be the velocity from a drum pad. Cool eh?”

Update: Via zon in the comments –  while the video author describes the step sequencer as a ‘Moog 960 sequencer’ – it appears to be a Synthesizers.com Q960 sequencer – Roger Arrick’s ‘enhanced clone’ of the Moog original.

  1. Just as a correction for your headline, that isn’t a Moog 960 sequencer. It is a Synthesizers.com Q960 sequencer – Roger Arrick’s wonderful contemporary version of the Moog 960.
