Peter Baumann’s ‘Machines Of Desire’ (Sneak Preview)

peter-baumannPeter Baumann, right, has shared some new previews for his upcoming album, Machines Of Desire, embedded below.

Baumann was a member of Tangerine Dream from 1971 to 1977, the group’s most important period, for many fans.

In addition to his work with Tangerine Dream, Baumann produced records by Conrad Schnitzler, Cluster and Hans-Joachim Roedelius;, released several successful solo albums; and founded the new age music label Private Music.

Peter Baumann’s Machines of Desire is scheduled to be released May 20th 2016.

  1. I often feel that Baumann was the musical heart and soul of TD. His use of melody is what I missed most on his departure. Romance 76 and Trans Harmonic Nights illustrate beautifully what he brought to the TD table.

    I am rather looking forward to this release.

    1. Have to agree with you. Would have been nice if he had played with the TD Sorcerer concert in Europe last year (or two?)

  2. Some of what I hear is too sugar coated and will appeal to the masses. Nothing wrong with that, but not what I call real music. Other tracks are surprising and fresh. Promises to be an interesting album. Fortunately we have Itunes, so each can pick its own favorite tracks and leave those who appeal less. Can’t argue about taste.
    So far I like dust to dust best.
