Fieldscaper Update Adds Looper Mode & More

fieldscaperFieldscaper for iOS, described as a ‘sound warp field recorder and scape constructor’, has been updated to add a looper mode and more.

FieldScaper consists of two main parts:

  • The first part is the field recorder, with special options for different ways of recoding environmental sound from microphone or other sound sources. With the sample editor you can change or split the source sample for more convenient use.
  • The second part is the scaper sound engine that can transform the ordinary samples into something very different.

Here’s what’s new in the update:

  • New user interface of the Looper mode specially designed for real-time controls.
  • Four different modes of processing audio from external sources (include IAA and AB).
  • Assignable buttons for quick select presets in the Looper mode.
  • Assignable buttons for quick select samples for oscillators.
  • New square waveform added for LFOs.
  • Option for random modulation of all waveforms in LFO.
  • The main effect value can be inverted for different parameters.
  • New controls for High and Low cutoff filters on the input.
  • Stop recording time when input signal below threshold.
  • Several new sound mangling presets.

  2. cool but too similar to soundscaper to justify the purchase, in particular because there is no discount for the bundle for people who already own soundscaper. i wonder what’s the rationale behind this pricing scheme.
