  1. Apogee for Windows again? Wow. Well, it all makes sense considering Apogee has abandoned all their Mac customers with zero support for their firewire-interfaces lately. Just like you abandoned Windows-users before officially going Mac-only. Apogee simply can’t be trusted if you want to own future-proof products.

    1. In my experience, it’s a valid criticism. Apogee’s stuff is wonderful sounding, but the firmware/software support is too uncertain and spotty given what you pay for the products. If you never plan to upgrade your host computer or are OK with the possibility of having to upgrade your interface every time you upgrade your computer hardware or operating system, they’re great products.

  2. Add to the cost a pop filter and shock mount because the mic has none of those nice little ‘features” built in.
Don’t touch it or breath on it and you’ll be fine.

  3. Yeah, great products, sound quality…I have original Duet FireWire, Mac/iOS version, as well as original Apogee Mixpc and Jam. Only the Jam is plasticky, but still works fine.

The bad part is as noted here: bullshit firmware and software support that is lazily released and eventually does indeed force you to abandon products.
