Linear Display Intros Ephemere Glitch Percussion Synthesizer

ephemere

Linear Display has introduced Ephemere – a percussion synthesizer that includes twelve sound generation engines, assigned to each note of an octave.

The sounds are generated using FM synthesis and can be further sculpted using a multi mode filter and two simple yet flexible envelope generators.

Ephemere makes it easy to add variety to your rhythmic patterns by attaching a randomization setting to most of the synthesis parameters, as well as a trigger probability per sound.

Here’s an audio demo:

Features:

  • FM oscillator with feedback
  • Analog Style Multi-Mode Filter : Lowpass, Highpass, Bandpass, Notch
  • AR Amplitude Envelope with adjustable Attack and Release curves
  • Looping Release Pitch Envelope with adjustable Release curve

  1. Ever since developers started focusing on these types of “instant Aphex” plugins, the whole genre has been cheapened, to the point that few people want to make or listen to this type of music anymore.

    1. I think it has more to do with the entry into analog being lower than the advent of plugins like this that draw people in a different direction

    2. It takes more than this to ruin a genre. Just because a plugin like this makes it easier to get the kind of sounds, doesn’t mean anybody can be Aphex. Thoughtful original music is still thoughtful and original. And unimaginative imitation is still unimaginative imitation.

  2. Amidst the obligatory controversy with every new plugin released the demo for Ephemere is firmly on the YES! end of the spectrum to these ears. Fantastic sounds.

  3. I’m….not gonna hate. I bought the plugin at the sales price, and even the full price is nice, considering that I can break the 12 parts in Logic X as multi-output. I’ve heard the audio demos and only tried the presets, but not the 150 factory sounds. This is sure to give me variety.
