Acoustica Releases Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio

Acoustica has announced a major update to their Mixcraft software. Mixcraft 8 Recording Studio and Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio music production software features integrated Melodyne pitch-correction technology, effects sidechaining, Audio Control, sound engine overhaul, UI enhancements and more.

The standard edition Mixcraft 8 Recording Studio ($89) is a complete recording studio, aimed at home and project studios. Mixcraft 8 features unlimited audio and MIDI tracks, seamless video editing, and a Performance Panel for real-time live loop triggering. New effects include the EU ProMixEQ-10A Equalizer, DTC-1 Compressor, and ORB7000 Octave Reverb. Mixcraft 8 Recording Studio boasts a total of 15 virtual instruments, including two samplers, 28 effects, and over 7,800 loops, samples, and sound effects, plus integrated access to hundreds of thousands of additional sounds from freesound.org.

Acoustica’s “top-of-the-line” Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio ($179), offers additional enhancements, including seamless integration of Celemony Melodyne Essentials (pictured, right), the pitch-correction technology. New instruments include Kastelheimer Veldberg XD, a “sharp, edgy” synthesizer, and a new eight-output version of Mixcraft’s Omni Sampler pad-based sampler. New Pro Studio effects include the VTD-42 Psychedelic Delay, which elevates classic tape delay sounds to new heights. Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio features a total of 57 effects and 22 virtual instruments, including professional mastering plug-ins and instruments by iZotope, Celemony, ToneBoosters, Studio Devil, Applied Acoustics, BeatRig, QuikQuak, G-Sonique, 123 Creative, and more.

Among the new features and enhancements in Mixcraft 8 is the new Audio Control system, allowing easy control of effect and instrument parameters via audio from other tracks within a project. Offering unlimited parameter control potential, this sidechaining technology enables instruments to pulse along with a beat, filters to “growl” as a bass line intensifies, and reverbs to swell as vocals crescendo.

In addition, Mixcraft 8 now features live recording directly to the Performance Panel, VST3 plug-in support, MP4 video file support, support for sidechaining VSTs, global automation recording, MIDI clock/sync transmission, an integrated file browser, an improved UI with dark and light themes, and so much more. The new Mix Down to Stems feature simplifies moving mixes between studios, and the fully-customizable mixer offers many improvements, including instant effects access and multiple send knobs.

These new updates, combined with Mixcraft’s professional video-editing capabilities, live performance mode, and one-click publishing of music and videos directly to social media sites (including YouTube, Facebook, Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Vimeo, and Tumblr) solidifies Mixcraft 8 as the most versatile DAW on the market today. While Mixcraft 8 elevates its reputation in the Pro Audio industry, the clever integration of these new technologies into its streamlined UI ensures that Mixcraft 8 is still the easiest-to-use, most affordable, and most powerful software available for composing, recording, mixing, mastering, and audio and video production.

  1. I have been using Mixcraft since 2012 Cool new features…. No doubt, However, Its time to update the mixer board.. To me everything else is really cool but the mixer is totally outdated It looks bland and boring it needs to be amp’d and resigned to look like the mixing consoles in the big studios with cool buttons with the use of automated features where you can see your faders moving up and down during the mix down process as you recorded other than that good job (redesign that mix board PLZZZZ Thanx :-))

  2. Awesome – and especially for the price (got v8-pro for appr. 62 USD, on sale).

For home recording, I try to use it, with my kids – and they are beginning to understand and being able to navigate in it.

Effects, Instruments, and Sounds, are excellent – and, I love the fact, that it is for “the people” (because of price-tag and no physical key to fiddle with, and can be installed on more than 1 PC).

Of course, most features are much-much to advanced for just recording and use as a family-fater, with kids – but there doesn’t seem to be any alternatives (the world really need a DAW/Sequenser, that is especially for kids) – not a “toy-like” software, but something a bit like “Synthesia”, that is simple, and still can do the basic things.
What I’m aiming at, is that interface and functions (which is a jungle, that is easy to get lost in) in any sequenser around, is the major hurdle.
Options to “use simple, semi-pro, and pro” interfaces and menus, could be a “work-around”, in existing DAW’s – so that for instance “me as a family father / pro-user” can switch and make adjustments, and then can leave the “creation process” to my kids.

“One user” license, can come in the way of this … because officially, we are 2-3 users …
Then the license could be made a “family-license, within the same LAN / between the same router/modem” (to protect from “big families” buying only 1 license, etc)
