Daniel Lanois Performs ‘Low Sudden’ In His Basement Studio

Sunday Synth Jam: In this video, producer Daniel Lanois performs Low Sudden, from Goodbye To Language, live in his Toronto basement studio.

Lanois is best known for his production work with artists like Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Neil Young and U2; and for his role in producing seminal ambient albums with Brian Eno, like The Pearl. As a solo artist, though, he’s released more than a dozen albums.

In the last few years, he’s incorporated more ‘live production’ into his performances, playing his mixer and effects units to create unique soundscapes.

  1. Lanois makes more interesting soundscapes with a DDL and a Mackie mixer than all the posers with their walls of Eurocrack modules. Good stuff!
