Club Of The Knobs 5U Modular Synthesizer Track

MrFirechild shared this music video, for an original track, featuring the sound of a Club Of The Knobs modular synthesizer

The 5U system is a custom configuration based on the System-55. Most of the Club Of The Knobs modules are inspired by classic Moog modules design.

Multitracking and external reverb and delay are used.

    1. because frankly mr. firechild has a very distinct style… so his tunes usually sound quite similar. which must not be a bad thing if you’re into this kind of music of course 🙂

  1. Everybody is different, but working like Wendy Carlos 50 years later, isn’t exactly futuristic or fast. I can’t hear any sound that couldn’t be created in faster ways or would be a reason to use a modular system.

    1. Do you think we should stop making music with violins because they aren’t futuristic?

And since when is making music a race to be fastest?

      1. I need workflows to be fast, otherwise my inspiration is long gone before I ended up somewhere. Like I said everyone is different, this is not for me.

  2. I have to say that the collection of synths on offer is enough to make any of us drool and despite having gear like the Schmidt everything sounds like a Jean Michel Jarre album from 1976. It has nothing to do with violins. That is a different topic and obfuscating it with an illogical premise serves to lessen your argument. A violin is made to sound like a violin. These instruments were, and still are designed to inspire musicians to make something never before heard. Mr Firechild does not do this.

    1. Every instrument ever invented was made to create new sounds.

You can make the argument that there’s a ‘right’ way to use synthesizers, or that there are ‘futuristic’ sounds, but you’ll have a stronger case if you just say you don’t like his music!

          1. I think he stated it accurately when he said:
“That is a different topic and obfuscating it with an illogical premise serves to lessen your argument.”
Trying to equate a single purpose instrument with the multitimbrality of a synthesiser is illogical. You need to look up the meaning of the word “illogical” and perhaps take a course in critical thinking. Oh, and you misspelled your name. It’s ‘jerk’

    2. “I have to say that the collection of synths on offer is enough to make any of us drool and despite having gear like the Schmidt everything sounds like a Jean Michel Jarre album from 1976.”

Going out on a limb here, but I think the retro style is very intentional. 😉

  3. Would I ever want to hear this a second time?
Melodically and harmonically ultra boring for me.
So no. JMHO, but seriously simplistic and dated for my taste buds.
