ContinuuCon Comes To Paris In 2018

ContinuuCon, the annual conference focused on the Haken Continuum Fingerboard, has announced that its 2018 conference will take place next spring in Paris.

April in Paris. ContinuuCon 2018 is scheduled for April 26-28 at IRCAM, the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music). Performers, sound designers, composers and electronic music enthusiasts who attend ContinuuCon explore the uniquely expressive instrument through music, workshops, lectures and more. Dr. Lippold Haken, inventor of the Continuum, and Edmund Eagan, developer of the Continuum’s synthesis engine EaganMatrix, along with many other technologists and performers openly share their knowledge, history and musical talents at this event.

The first ContinuuCon: Haken Continuum Conference was in 2016, and was held in Asheville, NC, in 2016 and 2017. The two-day event draws attendees from around the world, and culminates in a performance on the last night of the conference.   1. We’re very excited and honored to have a prestigious music institution, deep in the exploration of electronic music, host ContinuuCon.

  2. For the past year and a half, the conference’s organizers have been planning to hold the third ContinuuCon somewhere in Europe, but having it hosted by IRCAM is a dream come true.

  3. It’s also possible to see and test Continuum(s), and meet Christophe Duquesnes (One of the devs and demonstrator) every year at the french SynthFestival in Nantes.
    2018 edition will be from friday, March 30 to sunday April 1st included
