Free App, Snapshot, Lets You Store Hardware Settings In Your DAW

Snapshot is a free app, for Mac and Windows, designed to let you store images of your hardware settings within your DAW.

It’s designed for situations where you want to recall settings from hardware that can’t be recalled with software. It lets you take a photo and save it with your track, so you can see how you had your hardware patched and dialed in.

Snapshot works with all major DAWs, uses minimal resources and is free.

Here’s what’s new in the latest version:

  • Snapshot now supports Windows 10 as well as macOS 10.9 and above
  • Load several images into Snapshot and move through them easily
  • Snapshot now displays each image in a set in their original aspect ratio
  • Rotate each image within Snapshot

Snapshot is a free download via the Non-Lethal Applications site.

  1. Pretty cool idea. An app for the phone that glues it all together would be perfect. Wonder if it stores the image itself in the snapshot file or just a reference to the image on disk. If it’s a reference then you’d have to be careful not to move the jpgs around or you’d break the links. Allowing multiple photos might be nice too.

      1. Smart! And I must have missed that it already allows for multiple images. Neat idea and well implemented! I’d imagine many will find this very useful. Well done.

  2. Well Russ Hugher, I suggest you should go more often to the pub! You deserve a virtual beer from everyone who download your plug in. Thank man!

  3. Great idea! I always have to put notes in my Cubase sessions about hardware setting etc… then I have pics ‘somewhere’ on my phone. This is awesome. Thanks.
