Free Soft Synth Emulates Rare Korg PS-3200 Semi-Modular Synthesizer

Full Bucket Music has released a free synthesizer, for Mac & Windows, based on the rare Korg PS-3200 semi-modular synthesizer.

FB-3200 is a software instrument for Microsoft Windows (VST) and Apple macOS (VST/AU) simulating the KORG PS-3200 Polyphonic Synthesizer from 1978. It is written in native C++ code for high performance and low CPU consumption.

Features:

  • Emulation of behavior and controls of the original hardware
  • Band-limited oscillators, classic lowpass filters
  • Equalizer section
  • Two Modulation Generators, Sample & Hold
  • Paraphonic Envelope Generator
  • Semi-modular
  • Micro-tuning option
  • Additional tweaks (4-pole lowpass, Resonators, Velocity)
  • MIDI Learn – all parameters can be controlled by MIDI CC
  • Plug-in supports Windows and macOS (32 bit and 64 bit)

FB-3200 is available now as a free (donationware) download from the Full Bucket Music site.

  1. Beautiful job! I’m looking at their 3300 model seriously. I’m not a typical modular user, but I love my MonoPoly and this has a very similar form factor. It could be a nice bridging synth without having to dive into too much patch cord madness.

  2. The square/PW emulation has flaw, they dont emulate the defects in the analog circuitry the VCF also sounds different in the analog original. Other then then that
its nice sounding better then the original and thats the whole point of it, we dont want old analog crap do we?
