Berlin Wall Distortion Effect

ldezem created Berlin Wall Distortion, a unique DIY hardware effect, based on the Electra distortion circuit.

Here’s what he has to say about the pedal:

The unit is centered around a piece of the Berlin Wall. The circuit connections are actual roads, connecting the different components using the fastest routes.

The view can be overlayed with a map and the board layout is available on OpenStreet map.

See the Ore. e site for details.

  1. After listening to it, I am not impressed. Granted I am listening on my phone but it sounds underpowered than a nice distortion pedal by Boss or Earthquake Devices.

  2. Very nice! Thanks for sharing and making the schematics available in the future.

As it contains a piece of the Berlin wall from 1990 and a pin that was a present from his mother, I don’t think this will be for sale any time soon. He’s not trying to build another OTO Biscuit or put Boss out of business, I think it’s more about combining art and engineering to create something unique and inspiring to share with the world. It’d be like saying the Wintergatan Marble Machine is pretty limited as a sequencer compared to Live.
