Bivalvia Synthesis Is A Beautiful ‘Synthesizer Toy’, Based On The Open Axoloti Core Platform

Designer Love Hultén shared this preview of his boutique synthesizer, Bivalvia Synthesis.

Bivalvia Synthesis is described as ‘a small synthesizer toy’, based on the open hardware Axoloti Core platform.

The casing is handmade from wood and unfolds like a clamshell to reveal six dial/fader controllers, combined with 15 Cheery MX keys for 12 MIDI notes in chromatic scale, octave up/down and patch shifting. For output, there’s stereo output on the back and a built-in full-range 15W speaker.

Combined with Axoloti Patcher software – a user friendly and very graphic modular environment, you can create your own effects and sounds using oscillators (from subtractive to FM), filters, modulation, and much more. You can connect the Bivalvia Synthesis to your computer via USB to build or load Axoloti patches.

For details, see Hultén’s site.

    1. Let people have their fun if that’s what they’re into. “Get serious” is another way of saying “stop having fun”

  1. So he’s the reason you can’t buy an Axoloti core anymore, nor can you buy his toy barely using 1% of this amazing device inside. Cool
