Mountaintop iPad Synth Jam

Sunday Synth Jam: This video, via Perplex On, captures a mountaintop iPad synth jam.

Technical Details:

Apps in use: Samplr, Tardigrain, ElasticFx, Borderlands Granular, AUM.

All apps are hosted and recorded inside of AUM, Samplr provides pads and clicks and is also routed into Borderlands Granular for grainy fractals, Tardigrain adds some additional pads and Elastic Fx is doing some subtle glitching in the background.

  1. I’m happy with a desktop, but iPads have advanced a lot lately. Its doesn’t quite suit my personal cost/benefit analysis just yet, but I’m slowly coming around. There’s something to be said for having an iPad act as a secondary instrument with a few exotic synths to offer. While you can use Galileo as your organ, I’d be more prone to use a pad as a VCS3 or as one of Wolfgang’s wild PPG descendants. Anyway, that was a fine piece of music with great visuals. Its a quality showpiece for all of the apps in use, no question.
