Monophobia is the fear of being alone or coping without someone. So that does explain why we see deadmau5 in his studio alone programming these weird people. It’s his way of avoiding loneliness. This is one of the saddest, misunderstood music videos ever…?

For my ears this a very melancholic tune, so didn’t mind the repetition and overall sameness throughout, it kind of reinforced the somber tone for me.
Video was also disturbing and creepy so it added another layer of despair but with a different flavor. Dark doesn’t always have to be cliche, or relegated to a literal “dark,” it can be used artfully as IMHO in this video, in the guise of offering other emotions and expressions.
Imagewise, very creative stuff.
