Synth Jam With Custom Samples On The Sequential Prophet X

Sunday Synth Jam: Synthesist Gil Assayas shared this video song style synth jam, exploring the upcoming sample import feature of the Sequential Prophet X.

Here’s what he has to say about it:

“I’ve been beta-testing the upcoming sample import feature on the Sequential Prophet X, and I decided to have some fun with it. I sampled my own voice and then made an entire song and arrangement using nothing but that sample for everything!”

  1. I think some are missing the point. Yes, the example isn’t great, but as an owner of the PX, I can wait to run my own samples through that filter.

  2. For anyone wanting sampling on a full keyboard like this (as i didn’t really see any use of the synthesis), check out the Roland w30. You can do all this on it from a very cheap unit on the used market.

  3. I was doing this 30 years ago in my Casio SK1. Love this machine though, sounds much better than what I expected. Shame you cannot filter the samples and the “analog” oscillators differently.
