ContinuuCon 2019 Call for Presentations & First Look at Scheduled Presenters

ContinuuCon organizers have issued a Call for Presentations for ContinuuCon 2019.

ContinuuCon 2019, the fourth annual international Haken Audio Continuum conference, will be held May 30–June 1, hosted by the University of North Carolina at Asheville Department of Music. The conference’s organizers are issuing a Call for Presentations to anyone interested in presenting a program, staging a workshop, or giving a demonstration directly related to the Haken Continuum Fingerboard.

The Haken Continuum Fingerboard is an electronic instrument that’s designed to give you continuous independent expressive control over each note that you play. The Continuum scans the playing services ever 330 microseconds to allow for responsiveness comparable to acoustic instruments. It also features a deep modular synthesizer engine that is tailored to expressive synth control, the EaganMatrix.

Scheduled presenters this year include:

  • Lippold Haken, inventor of the Continuum Fingerboard and ContinuuMini;
  • Edmund Eagan, developer of the Continuum’s onboard synthesis engine, the EaganMatrix; and
  • Roger Linn, inventor of the first digital drum machine (the LM-1 Drum Computer), the Akai MPC60, and other popular music gear.

If you have an interesting idea for a presentation, submit an informal proposal to continuucon at gmail.com as soon as you can. Presentations should be 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length. The organizers will judge proposals based on the relevance, quality, and focus of material, and whether the presentation is educational or practical in nature. Sales presentations will not be accepted.
