ARP 2500 Synth Jam

This video, via David Baron, captures a synth jam created with a vintage ARP 2500 modular synthesizer.

Video Summary:

“Created entirely with the Arp 2500 Modular Synthesizer. A very rare synthesizer that was the chief competitor to Moog during the late 60s and early 70s.

Most of them were sold to rock stars (Pete Townshend) or universities. A large system was used to communicate with the aliens in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”

  1. If you have steady access to one of these, much less two or three like a Moog 15 or a Schmidt, forget about your real life. There won’t be any time for that nonsense. You’re going to be too busy programming. You don’t just play modulars or pipe organs; you take them to spring break every time you turn them on. Some marriages don’t croak over porn; they croak over that synth cave. Sequence your way into court in just 16 steps!
