Arturia Pigments Update Adds Microtuning, Supersaw Oscillator, Revised Sequencer

Arturia has released an update to Pigments, its hybrid wavetable/virtual analog software synth for Mac & Windows.

Pigments has been updated to version 1.2, refining its sequencer, adding new features, new presets, and a major improvement for owners of Native Instruments controllers: NKS compatibility.

Here’s what’s new in Pigments 1.2:

  • Sound Store – Find new preset sound banks from directly within Pigments.
  • SUPER mode – A new unison detune voice mode lets you beef up your oscillator up with the style of the famous “JP” supersaw.
  • Sequencer revamp – A new visual layout, with the added ability to set different clock divisions for each lane in the sequencer or arpeggiator.
  • NKS Compatible – Pigments is now fully compliant with Native Instruments NKS control format, instantly smart-mapping key parameters.
  • Extra Combinator – Pigments has added a third combinator, giving you more sound-shaping potential.
  • Updated envelope – the minimum value for the attack times is shorter, letting you achieve sharper envelope modulation.
  • Microtuning – Now you can select alternative keyboard scales, as well as import your own .scl and .tun files.
  • 50 new presets that make use of the new capabilities of the Pigments audio engine updates in version 1.2.
  • Other changes include new Aftertouch curves, Mod source hovering displays, integrated Filter tutorials, and bug fixes.

Pricing and Availability

Owners of Pigments can upgrade to the new version for free. Pigments is currently available for US $149 (normally $199). A demo version is also available.

  1. Got this when it first came out, one of the soft synths that I use quite a bit. Well worth the $69 I spent on it IMO.
