1,000 Free Patches For The Novation Peak & Summit Synthesizers

To celebrate the launch of their new Summit synth, Novation has announced the release of (an eventual) 1000 free presets throughout August, September and October.

Suitable for both Peak and the new flagship Summit, the new synth patches have been created by a range of musicians and producers, from artists including Legowelt, Craig Williams, Lightbath, Hinako Omori, Emily Sprague and Shawn Rudiman, and others.

Ultimately, these 1000 artist presets comprise a diverse library of basses, leads, pads, arps, FX and more that showcase the synths themselves, as well as the talents of the sound designers – and they’re free.

At the same time, Novation have also redesigned the Components application from the ground up, so that you can really take advantage of the librarian and the variety of presets offered by all the artists.

The new Components browser puts the Bank Editor and content side by side, and enables the user to drag content directly into the Bank Editor patch list. Presets can also be filtered in the browser, and the user now has the option of showing the Novation and User banks together. Mandatory login is no longer a requirement, either, as you can now use site-wide features without logging in (although you do still need to create an account and log in to store user content in the cloud).

1000 free artist presets for Peak and Summit will be released in weekly sets, via the new-look Components from the end of July until the end of October.

  1. It’s nice to have options. I don’t mind trying out what others have made.
But I do wish there was just a little more patch memory. Also, a straight download of sysex doesn’t seem available. Components is cool, but is it around for the long haul?
