Korg Gadget 2 Update Adds Three New Gadgets

Korg today released a new version of Korg Gadget 2, introducing three new gadgets: Otoril, Ebina and Warszawa:

  • Otorii is a drum/SFX sound module that contains samples recorded from popular 80s SEGA games like OutRun and After Burner. From the logo to the interface design, this gadget is a homage to the Genesis.
  • Ebina is a synth module inspired by the Darius arcade cabinet and its distinctive three-screen design. Synth sounds have been recorded from arcade games such as Darius and The Ninja Warriors. Through collaboration with Taito, Korg reproduced FM tone generator sounds as closely as possible, to recreate the sounds of these legendary arcade games.
  • Warszawa is a wavetable synthesizer that Korg says ‘supports cutting-edge dance music such as EDM, Future Bass, and Trap’.

Otorii, Ebina, and Warszawa are included in both Gadget 2 for Mac and Gadget 2 Plugins for Mac/PC. On iOS, Otorii and Ebina are available as in-app purchases.

Warszawa for iOS is available only for ELECTRIBE Wave app customers.

  1. Electribe Wave is obviously the big news here. The two arcade style gadgets are ok but the Otorii I’m having trouble with. When I load it, the screen is black, I can hear the samples when I hit randomly on the screen or I can input notes on the piano roll screen, I just cannot see the gadget itself. Anyone else?

  2. KORG have really created a superb & fun platform with Gadget – great that they are continually updating it – hours of fun ahead!

No they don’t. None of their plugins support AUv. You cant load AUv plugins or effects in to Gadget.
Its the same if they would start a DAW without VST support.
Sorry but I will never buy any IOS app from Korg.

  4. I’ve used Gadget extensively and basically gave up in frustration with the sequencer layout and how to edit midi. It’s a painful chore to compose a full song! Korg fix the sequencer please!!
