Oversynth Intros Overlays For Customizing Moog Mother-32, DFAM

Oversynth has introduced a new series of overlays for customizing the Moog Mother-32 and Moog DFAM synthesizers.

The overlays are printed on a ‘durable, waterproof, and 100% recyclable polyester sheet’. Several variations are available for both the Mother-32 and the DFAM,  allowing the user to tailor their synth’s look to preference or to coordinate with other synths:

Oversynth has overlays available to customize the look of a variety of synths, including the Mother-32, DFAM, Behringer Neutron, DSI Evolver, Elektron Model: Samples and Korg MS-20 Mini.

Pricing and Availability

The overlays for the Mother-32 and DFAM are available now for $35 USD.

  1. I could understand the demand for overlays when Behringer introduced the Neutron, because it was so hideous and difficult to read.

And I can even see getting one for the Behringer D, just to get rid of the ugly logo and fix the typography.

But I don’t get the need for overlays for synths that already have a classic look, like the Korg MS-20 or the Moog Eurorack synths. They’re already easy to read and have a classic look.

Are people just wanting to ‘hotrod’ their gear?

    1. That’s not the goal here. He hasn’t designed these because they were ugly difficult to read. It’s designed to divide the interface into its various components (OSC, LFO, ENV) and make them instantly recognisable. I don’t particularly like these but I do have a DFAM and totally understand why someone would do this. It’s quite unusual for a synth to not have it’s various components clearly delineated
