TAL-U-NO-LX Brings The Sound Of A Juno 60 To iOS

TAL has released TAL U-NO-LX for iOS, a software emulation of the classic Roland Juno 60 synthesizer.

It’s a port of their desktop version, which is available for Linux, macOS & Windows.

Here’s what they have to say about it:

TAL-U-NO-LX is a complete rewritten emulation of the popular Juno 60, with a new engine and GUI. Up-to-date zero-feedback delay filters and carefully calibrated controls make this synth a good replacement for the analog device, with all the advantages software plugins have.

As an addition, the TAL-U-NO-LX also supports portamento and different filter LFO waveforms and some more useful features. An arpeggiator with different sync modes and hold function is also included. A very fast envelope with a smooth roll-off, emulated inaccuracy and a very smooth filter sound gives this synth the typical sound.

The synth was calibrated after a hardware device that’s property of TAL.”

Features:

  • Self resonating zero feedback delay filter (24dB LP).
  • Filter range up to ~40kHz (depends on the sample rate).
  • Calibrated and tuned after TAL’s hardware device.
  • Midi learn / automation for all controlls.
  • Improved alias free oscillators for an authentic sound also @ 44’100Hz sampling rate.
  • Arpeggiator with different sync modes (host, midi clock, not on).
  • Portamento and mono mode.
  • LFO manual trigger button.
  • Sustain pedal support.
  • Up to 12 voices.
  • New file based preset system for transparent preset management.
  • More than 300 factory presets by different sound designers (FMR, Particular – Sound, TAL).
  • Original hardware “Factory Bank A” included.
  • MPE support (+-48 semitones, MIDI channel 1 = master).

    1. Still remember the day I drove to Guitar Center SF and bought my Juno-60, it would be part of my live setup for the next 5-6 years. Wish I had never sold it! This app is pure awesomeness.

  1. All my best wishes for Tal’s debut on the ios scene, sweet news. Get a Behri Bcr to control it and that’s it, instant fun.

  2. Its an excellent emulation that deserved an iOS version. Some people see software versions in a dim light, but if you get a chance to compare them with the hardware, most are really solid. I was a Juno-1 warrior for years, because it was superior glue for everything else. I can recommend this as a very musical reproduction of it, with all of the Roland goodness that made the first one a winner.

  3. I like the sounds but the interface is not so good. In particular the preset launcher is poor: I spent a lot of time loading presets I didn’t want to load (and I don’t have large fingers). Overall, I had the feeling of everything on the screen being cramped.

  4. Is it AUv3? If so, it is not mentioned anywhere. Been waiting SO long for some dedicated Roland flavour in iOS.

Now, if only the PG8X could be ported to iOS as well…

  5. Nice to see more new iOS apps appearing recently. Yet I miss the good old days of introductory discounts which led to dozens of quick buys. Now I might as well wait. 😉

  6. Would really love Tal to bring out a Memorymoog emulation. There is no plugin Memorymoog available. Only one from Syntronik by Ik Multimedia but its sample based and Memorymoon which is very old and Windows only
