Behind Closed Doors: Live Streaming Electronic Music From Thorsten Quaeschning & Guests

https://vimeo.com/ondemand/behindcloseddoors

Synthesist Thorsten Quaeschning (Tangerine Dream, Picture Palace Music) let us know that he has launched a new project, Behind Closed Doors, that will feature streaming performances, featuring live improvisations with a variety of artists:

“Together with renowned musicians, Thorsten Quaeschning of Tangerine Dream welcomes you to a series of musical evenings (Mondays and Thursdays) of a most special kind: In collaboration with his guests, Quaeschning concocts real-time compositions for the distant eyes and ears of the audience, carrying them off into a unique world of sound far away from nights of monotonous entertainment.

The setup in front of the grand, but empty stage at ufaFabrik Berlin as well as the technically elaborate execution allow the audience to experience an extraordinary concert without having to leave the privacy of their homes. Quaeschning and his team make use of the exceptional composer’s extensive collection of equipment – and more.

Creatively, all bets are off: The Picture Palace Music-founder promises to go ‘wherever the music takes us’.”

The performances are being streamed from ufaFabrik Berlin, but with only an audience at home:

Planned guests include:

  • Christopher von Deylen (Schiller)
  • Schwarz (Roland Meyer de Voltaire)
  • Lüül (Agitation Free, Ash Ra Tempel, 17 Hippies)
  • Paul Frick (Brandt Brauer Frick)
  • Markus Reuter (Stick Men, King Crimson Project)
  • Hoshiko Yamane (Tangerine Dream, Jane Birkin, Tukico)
  • Franz Bargmann (Michael Rother’s Neu!, Ex-Camera)
  • Satoshi Okamoto (sub-tle., Klaus Dinger + Japandorf)
  • Benjamin Schwenen (Counter-World Experience)
  • Adrian Bang (Aqua Nebula Oscillator, Chemsex)
  • Anna-Maria van Reusel (APAT)
  • Stephan Bobinger (Way Beyond)

For details on upcoming events see Quaeschning’s Facebook page. Previous performances are also available via Vimeo.

  1. Really? Why shouldn’t we pay artists for their work? You can buy the whole series for 8 EUR. Come on, are we now at that point that we shame artists the ask for money? Esp. in time where it is quite hard for them to make a living without being able to perform.

The series is professionally produced on a nice stage and with studio quality sound.

Everybody should go to Bandcamp or wherever and spend a few buck to support their favorite artists.

  2. So then why are you here and letting us know that? If there is a post with music or a product I do not like, I just don’t spend time there. And I really do not start making negative comments. It’s of course a free world, you can do it, but by no means you are helping anybody by blaming this musician, another unrelated one and indirectly all listeners who actually like his music. There is no music everybody likes. We know that already. Have a nice day and enjoy the music you actually like.

    1. Because I had to respond to your self righteous remarks. If you didn’t leave your annoying posts, it would have ended with my first response, but you couldn’t leave well enough alone, could you? And in your world, no comments can be negative, everything has to be positive? That would distort the perception of reality, and make people believe everything is great when it’s really not.

      1. your first comment was without the extra explanation ambiguous at best and you clearly attracted the wrong clappers. in a time where a lot of people here are likely to have struggling artist friends the first post seemed like a totally inappropriate blanket statement.
