Super Sixteen Step Sequencer For Eurorack Modular Synthesizers

Developer Matthew Cieplak has launched a Kickstarter project to fund production of the Super Sixteen step sequencer for Eurorack modular synthesizers.

“When I surveyed the landscape of eurorack sequencers,” he notes, “I found brilliant products that mostly fell into two categories: strange, random, mathematical devices that generate sequences unpredictably, and enormous, knob-and-button-encrusted behemoths that offered every conceivable feature at the price of a steep learning curve. Seeking to combine the best aspects of both, I decided to build my own.”

Super Sixteen is a 64-step control voltage sequencer with dual CV, gate, and clock outputs, and a unique 2-handed programming interface.

Features:

  • Compact 22hp footprint
  • Patch memory for 99 sequences
  • Up to 64 step sequence length
  • Selectable scales and swing timing
  • Motion recording
  • Per-step glide/portamento
  • Real-time rhythm and pitch effects like beat repeat and stutter roll

Pricing and Availability

Production of the Super Sixteen is being funded via a Kickstarter project, and it is available to backers for $40 for a bare-bones DIY kit and starting at $275 for assembled modules.

  1. $40 bucks for all the bits to build something as capable as this? that’s an absolute steal… wish I had the skillset for it. I generally don’t like interfaces like this, but this one seems to be designed in slick and quick fashion that manages to combine and effectively balance immediacy, intuitive control, and compact feature-density. impressed with this one.
