TS2 is available with an intro price of $29 USD (normally $199).
Sound Forge has turned into such an abomination that for $30, I’m giving this a shot.
I’ve been using the older version of TS for a long time, and it is one of the tools I use very often. Great for taking a mixed track and changing the key. Music Teachers can put things in different keys, etc.
I have the new version, but haven’t quite warmed up to it yet. The old version just works. Sounds like I should take the time to learn the newer version.
Careful though. “Ultimate Audio Editing Software” should get an award for most misleading marketing statement. It’s absolutely NOT a full-featured audio editor in the vein of SoundForge or Wavelab. It’s a bunch of very interesting and peculiar IRCAM algorithms (as far as I can tell, all of them related to their phase vocoder implementation) wrapped in an UI that kinda resembles a basic audio editor and, in addition to the core pitch/time manipulation functions, has a basic sonogram view and can do a bunch of basic destructive cut/paste operations. Those are more a convenience than anything else.
I’m happy with the purchase because I’ll certainly get some use out of the algorithms in sound design and it’s still a freaking steal at $29, but don’t think for a second this is a Sound Forge contender (or tries to be, except for the marketing department at IRCAM apparently).
I agree. It’s a an UI for SuperVP, which can do nice things, and it’s way cheaper than a full Ircam Forum subscription so I bough it immediately.
Nice! Great to see a new player in this market. This is such an under-served area, and the only players in the market are either really old/clunky and expensive, or feature limited with bad UI/UX.
Looks really interesting, but crashes all the time. OSX 64 bit version
