Knobcon 2020 Cancelled, 2021 Plans Announced

Knobcon organizers have officially announced that the annual event will not be held in 2020 because of the Coronavirus pandemic:

“Due to ongoing restrictions on large gatherings, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule Knobcon Number Nine to September 10-12, 2021.

All existing sponsorships, exhibitor registrations and attendance tickets will remain valid for the new date.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. We look forward to seeing you all at Knobcon in 2021.

Knobcon is an annual synth convention, held in the Chicago area, that has grown in the last 9 years to become one of the most important events for synthesists and new synth introductions. The event features a trade show, live electronic music performances, seminars and presentations, DIY projects and and a Saturday night synth banquet.

Additional details are available at the Knobcon event site.

    1. Completely agree.

I go to NAMM every year, but like Knobcon more.

Knobcon isn’t as polished, but Suit and Tie Guy has his heart in the right place and puts on a great synth convention every year. He must have been gutted to have to cancel Knobcon, though it was the only smart decision.

This is the worst year ever. I haven’t really hung out with friend or even my family for the last 5 months. And it’s sort of hard to get enthusiastic about spending the weekend playing with synths when the country is completely falling apart.
